I currently teach full day kindergarten at Jack Dailey. I student taught in 4th grade at Treem. I am a CSN and UNLV graduate. I am enjoying my first year with all it's ups and downs. My favorite thing about and sucess about my first year is working with deaf and hard of hearing students. I have 4 DHH students in my class and have enjoyed every minute of working with them. I had DHH students when I student taught but they were a lot older and self sufficient. My liitle ones this year have very rough speech and I have had to learn a lot about hearing and cochlear implants. Learning how they work and how they are to be worn properly as well at putting them in/on and replacing batteries.Also learning how hearing aids come apart and go back together as well. One of my kiddos has a hearing aid that is falling apart. Needless to say I greatly enjoy it and I am now planning to get my masters in DHH education. I also coach ice skating as a weekend fun job. I work with the 3-6 year old on saying upright on the ice! I figure skated competitively for 8 year through high school and college. Also penguins happen to be my favorite animal thus the profile picture :)
