About Christina Mode
Howdy Everyone! My name is Christina Mode and I am the Tutt Middle School Art teacher. My BFA in ART and my teaching certificate are from Winthrop University. My Masters is in Education and Curriculum Development is from Cambridge. My second Masters in Interdisciplinary Sciences is from USC. Currently, I am developing a dissertation for University of California at Berkeley. I am trained as a teacher mentor and I also hold certificates in facilitating special populations and AIDS/HIV Awareness from the Red Cross. This will be my eighteenth year of formal teaching; my eleventh at Tutt Middle School. Future professional goals include writing and publishing a Grade School Science textbook and completing my Doctorate. I feel that it is important for each person to know that my approach to classroom management is inspired by Harry Wong's "So Where's My Apple?” I believing making the consequences for disrespectful behavior as memorable and relevent as possible. Teaching is a profession that allows me to help children develop their full potential. I appreciate the challenge from a profession that requires me to be continually growing and creating, and where a job well done is measured by the achievements and revealing moments of every student. I hope to give all my students the opportunity of self-evolution through the discipline of Art. A student who is given the opportunity to learn according to the arts disciplined sequences will know how to apply new knowledge in and out of the classroom. The ability to integrate knowledge with experience creates a sense of wholeness that is deeply fulfilling to students. Please meander around my page and become completely familiar of my expectations for your child. Be sure to visit the resources! Thank you in advance for your attention to your child's education. Mrs. Mode
