About Mr. Eric Bragg
Mr. Bragg hails from Elkhart, Indiana. He completed his undergraduate degree at Ball State University with a major in elementary education and a minor in theatrical studies. He moved to Georgia in 2003 to pursue a 5th grade teaching position at Creek View Elementary school. While at CVES, Mr. Bragg founded the after school drama program and truly fell in love with sharing his passion for drama with students. His productions received the support and attention of the community. Mr. Bragg received the Class Act Award from NBC news in 2005 for his devotion to drama at the elementary level. After four glorious years at Creek View, Mr. Bragg transferred to River Trail to teach drama full time. The opportunity to teach a passion each and every day was a dream come true for Mr. Bragg, and he feels very privileged to have the chance to work with these amazing students. In 2007, Mr. Bragg completed his Master’s Degree in Instructional Design from Georgia State University. Mr. Bragg’s goal at River Trail is to introduce the art form of drama to the student body. It is his hope that by exposing them to the various elements of production, the students will experience a growing appreciation for the art.
Mr. Bragg saw his first theatrical production when he was in third grade. The high school invited Mr. Bragg’s class to see a sneak preview of their production of Charlotte’s Web. From the moment the curtain opened, he was mesmerized by the performance. The ability to tell a story in front of a live audience was a concept that he had never witnessed before. Mr Bragg promised himself that when he reached high school he would be an actor on that stage. The fall of his freshman year, Mr. Bragg was cast in his first show, It’s a Wonderful Life. He has continued to pursue that passion ever since! Sharing that love for drama has become his life’s work, and Mr. Bragg feels truly blessed to have a home at RTMS.
