I currently teach sixth-grade language arts in the best middle school in my county! This is my seventh year at Uwharrie Middle, and I have super colleagues and students. I love sharing ideas and resources with other teachers and am thoroughly enjoying Edmodo.

I earned my B.A. degree in middle grades education from Northern Kentucky University and my M.Ed. in curriculum and instruction (middle and secondary ELA) from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I also have my National Boards in early adolescent ELA.

Originally from Cincinnati (go Bengals & Reds!), I moved to NC in 2004 with my two sons, who are now grown. I am a Battle of the Books sponsor and also serve on our school leadership team.
