Ms. Van Duzer is the choir director at Bishop O'Connell High School. She received her Bachelor of Music from the Catholic University of America with a concentration in Music Theatre. She is a proud Equity Membership Candidate with many professional theatre performance credits. She has also taught piano, guitar, and jazz band, and regularly performs her own compositions in DC. Ms. Van Duzer is an original member of O'Connell's Active Community of Teachers, a cross-curricular group which examines best teaching practices. She is especially interested in utilizing technology in the classroom, and as a means to further communication among students, faculty, parents, and the greater school community. She has been a mentor for new faculty, and is a member of the National Association for Music Educators.
