Welcome to Creative Dance. My name is Shannon Canady. This is my 21st year in Lexington One. I taught at Lexington Middle School for 14 years and this will be my 7th year at Pleasant Hill Middle. I have had extensive training in dance education. I received a BA degree in Dance from Columbia College with an emphasis in Teaching and Performance in 1991. Since then, I have headed dance programs in Richland and Lexington One, taught workshops in ballet, jazz, tap, and modern dance throughout the state, and served on curriculum writing committees in Lexington and Richland One. Three years ago, I received my National Board Certification in Career and Technology Education and currently am a Coaching Teacher with the University of South Carolina for their Dance Education Majors. I am also the Varsity Cheer Coach at Lexington High School. I am excited to have the opportunity to work with your child this year and look forward to seeing the growth your child makes this year.
