About Mrs. Liz Castillo
I graduated from the University of Hawaii with a Bachelor's degree in Zoology and a Master's in Education in Secondary Science Teaching. I also have my Master's of Education in Instructional Media from Wilkes University. I have been teaching middle school for 13 years in both public and private schools. I work at Kamehameha Schools which is a private preK-12 school that serves native Hawaiian children. We are in the sixth year of our 1:1 laptop program using MacBook computers in grades 7-12. I have 4 years experience as a 1:1 laptop teacher in the middle school science classroom. I currently serve as an Instructional Technology Specialist and enjoy helping both teachers and students to effectively integrate technology. I enjoy sharing both locally and nationally about how I integrate technology into the curriculum, including presenting at Edmodocon 2011 and 2012. I was honored to be named an Apple Distinguished Educator, a Google Certified Teacher & Apps Certified Trainer, a Siemens STEM fellow, and an Edmodo Featured Blogger. I currently serve as a member of the Apple Challenge Based Learning Advisory Board.
I would love to connect with anyone interested in collaboration and connecting our students.
