I teach AP English Literature and Teacher Cadets at Dutch Fork High School. I have been teaching here since 1994 and an educator for a total of 34 years. My teaching passions are writing and student engagement, along with British literature and poetry. I am the department chair of an amazing group of 22 English teachers who willingly share and inspire their students with their own high level of success. I am National Board certified, a Freedom Writer teacher trained by Erin Gruwell, and co-author of Teaching Hope: Stories from the Freedom Writers.

I have done much in these 34 years, but nothing compares to what I do each day in Room 261. It's there that I find my purpose and use my gifts, and there that I find both professional and personal joy. Other than being a wife and mother, teaching has been, and continues to be, the greatest experience of my life.
