About Mrs. Kate Stucker
As a fourth generation Idahoan I've grown to love the state we live in and cherish living here with my family nearby. I was born and raised in Boise and call myself both a Vandal and a Bronco.
I graduated from Capital High School and went directly on to study at the University of Idaho. Originally I started my studies at the U of I as a Computer Science major, but changed to Family Consumer Science Education my sophomore year. During my senior year I was lucky enough to return to Meridian to do my student teaching at Lake Hazel Middle School. After graduating from the University of Idaho with a degree in Family Consumer Science Education I went on to teach while getting a Masters Degree in Educational Technology from Boise State University.
I was recently married to a wonderful man and we live in Boise. We have a miniature schnauzer, Zoe, and a schnug (schnauzer/pug mix), Penny. We enjoy a variety of activities including swimming, playing the Wii and Kinetc, and hanging out with all of our family.
In January 2011, I became an aunt and love spending time with my niece Eleanor.
The summer of 2011 was a great one! I spent a lot of time getting caught up on sewing and knitting projects. I also spent time outdoors swimming and hanging out with a lot of friends and family at barbecues. I spent a day picking cherries in Emmett and then the day after canning cherry chutney and vanilla scented cherries. I also make 3 types of jams, pickled beets, and pickled honey blueberries. I plan on canning peaches, applesauce, and pearsauce this fall. I also spent a day at the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center in Baker City Oregon and a whole week working at a camp for abused and neglected children called Royal Family Kids Camp. Even though I spent most of the summer doing fun activities I also worked a little and taught webinars for Idaho State University. Summer 2011 was wonderful, but I'm really looking forward to the 2011-2012 school year and all the fun it holds.
