I love to teach because I love to change the minds of students who come into my classroom with the pre-set notion that they are "not good" at mathematics. I love to show them tricks that I have learned from various places so that they feel successful no matter what level of math they are taking from me from a basic class to a more advanced level class such as Algebra I Honors for high school credit. I try to make learning in my class fun, even though sometimes the material does not lend itself to much fun. I tell my students that it is what you make of it, and we want to make things as easy and painless as possible....so far, I have gotten alot of buy-in from my students over the years. I think now with this opportunity, the fun factor gets "kicked up a notch" or a bunch!
