I teach 9th and 10th grade English at Sachem High School East. I am also earning my certification in Instructional Technology. I love learning about people and the world through literature and am excited at the ways technology is not only be used as an assistive device to differentiate learning, but also to explore alternative ways of creating and sharing knowledge and learning.

One of the topics about which I am most passionate is helping students understand what and why they are learning and how it applies to the real world. I am interested in learning more about the new Common Core Standards and how it encourages more cross disciplinary study and enjoy coming up with fun, creative ways to teach students the skills they will need to succeed not only in their future careers, but as global, digital citizens.



On a personal note, I'm married and have a daughter starting middle school this fall, a cat, two rabbits and a dog we rescued from a shelter a few months ago. I love the beach, reading, writing, cooking and chocolate :)
