Welcome! I am the Horticulture teacher at Coronado High School. I have a Bachelors of Science in Horticulture; Crop Consulting and am actively pursuing my Masters of Science in Sustainable Agriculture. My background is primarily in horticulture plant production; however, I have ample experience and enthusiasm in all of the other areas of agriculture. My enthusiasm and passion for the field of agriculture flows over into my classroom, greenhouse and throughout the school campus.
Students in my classes are exposed to the scientific side of the "fun" classes leave with a true understanding of horticulture. Students will have opportunities to become certified by the Texas State Floral Association, pesticide applicator certification, as well as working towards a Texas Nursery & Landscape certification. These opportunities are not for the faint of heart - only the hardest working individuals will leave with a certification. ALL students are encouraged to become active members of the National FFA Organization, an organization which I firmly believe to be the premiere leadership organization. There are limitless opportunities for travel, competitions and meeting other agriculture science students throughout the state of Texas.
