About Mrs. Jenny Mendenhall

Welcome to 7th grade at RMS! My name is Jenny Mendenhall, and I teach 7th grade Language Arts (Reading and Writing) at RMS. This is my third year of teaching at the junior high level; however, this is my eighth year of teaching in the Riverton school district.

Riverton. Riverton. Riverton. I was born here, grew up here, and currently live here too! I am married to my husband Mike, and we have two sons (Ryan & Andrew) and a dog (Maddie). I love to spend time with my family and friends when I have free time. I also enjoy traveling, spending time outside, camping, shopping, swimming, walking/jogging, exercising, and...well, anything else considered fun! I also enjoy watching and cheering on the Illini and Cardinals!

I wasn't always a "teacher." I went to college locally and received a Bachelor's in Communications. I worked for a few years at a non-profit agency, and it didn't take me long to realize that was definitely not for me...so I went back to school! I received my teaching certificate at UIS, and then completed my Master's Degree in Education at WIU. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made because I absolutely LOVE what I do each day.

I hope to make the school year not only educational for all of my students and families, but fun as well! My goal is for every student to be successful, and to leave with some of the necessary lifelong, real-world skills and abilities required to be successful adults. I'm looking forward to having a wonderful school year! :o)
