It is my mission to educate all students in a supportive, challenging and disciplined environment to become lifelong learners who will value literature and be able to use writing to express themselves. My goal as a Language Arts teacher is to invite all students into the literacy circle. I want students to love the language arts and to produce authentic writings and authentic responses to literature. I want students to experiment with their language and be willing to take risks. I hope to create a community of learners who can appreciate others' responses and differences and feel comfortable enough to share our writings. I hope that students will discover their world through great literature and discover themselves through their writings.
