Greetings, I have been an educator for 14 years, all but one has been in the field of technology. I currently teach computer technology and business applications to 6, 7, and 8 graders. I am in the process of completing an Education Specialist Degree in Secondary Administration from the University Missouri Kansas City. I earned a Masters in Education Technology and a Bachelors in both Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Central Missouri State University. I am also certified in Physical Education K-12. I have also coached football, basketball, track, and ran an off-season weight lifting program.
I also serve as the district's activities technology coordinator. I basically teach, research, and recommend software, hardware devices, and troubleshoot technology issues for coaches and sponsors of teams/clubs.
My wife of 12 years, Dr. Sheryl Cochran, is an Elementary Principal so education permeates our household, conversations, and work. I particularly enjoy the challenges of incorporating technology into the core curriculum and introducing on-line education to middle school students.
When not teaching, I enjoy off-road bike riding, new electronic gadgets and apps, working outdoors, building remodeling houses, and staying "in the know" with world events.
I am interested in collaborating and partnering with a teacher/class on an online project for the next school year. The way my classes are arranged is that I have 8th (Computers II), 7th Grade (Computers I), and 6th Grade (Beginning Computers) for eight week intervals.
