I teach in continuation school, because this is where the greatest impact can be made. Students will have dozens of chances and many different approaches to learning throughout their school years, but when they reach us, they must begin to evaluate what they will do in the immediate future. The plan they follow will have a lasting effect on their lives. In this teaching venue, teaching is truly about the outcome, not the income. We are both participants and observers in this process. The mixed emotions and tears at graduation say it all, as our students cross the stage and walk into their futures.
