About Mr. David Hunter
I graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX with a double major in History and English. After working in private industry for 10 years I decided to go back to school and get my teaching credential, so I enrolled at St. Mary’s College in Moraga, CA. I began my teaching career in Sunnyvale, CA at Fairwood Elementary where I taught third grade for five years. Then I was offered a teaching position at the American International School of The Hague in The Netherlands, where I also taught third grade for five years. Then I taught for four years at the American International School of Vienna in Austria. I taught third grade my first year in Austrian and then fourth grade for the last three years. This year I have accepted a position as a sixth grade language arts teacher in Socorro, New Mexico.
I love teaching as much as I love learning new things. When I’m not at school you can find me reading a good book, working in my garden, or studying about alpacas as I have an alpaca ranch in New Mexico. I also love traveling around Europe meeting new people and learning about their cultures.
