About Mrs. Teresa Meissner
Teresa McCulley Meissner joined the Tuscaloosa City Schools as a Career Technology Teacher in Business Marketing Education in 2001. She taught two years at Central High School-West Campus before being assigned to Paul W. Bryant High School when it opened in 2003. In 2011, Mrs. Meissner transferred to Northridge High School where she is a member of the Business, Management and Administration Program Faculty.
Mrs. Meissner holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Education from The University of Alabama and has completed graduate courses in Educational Computer Technology. Additionally Mrs. Meissner holds an IC3 certification and is a Microsoft Office Specialist.
She serves as the Chapter Adviser to the Northridge High School Chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). In 2005, she was selected as the State of Alabama’s Outstanding FBLA Chapter Adviser. She has served as a member on the Alabama FBLA State Administrative Board since 2008.
Mrs. Meissner joined the Tuscaloosa City Schools after more than 20 years in the local business and industrial community where she gained experience in human resources, retirement plans and benefits, payroll and HR information systems, computer software / technology and database management with DCH Regional Medical Center, Gulf States Paper Corporation and Hunt Refining Company.
Mrs. Meissner serves on the Board of Directors for Distinguished Young Women of Tuscaloosa County, the Board of Directors for Covenant Dance Experience, and is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Tuscaloosa. She is an active member of Covenant Presbyterian Church where she is a member of the hand bell choir and serves on the Christian Education Committee.
Mrs. Meissner left the business community to become a business teacher because she believes that by sharing her knowledge and training from the business world to create "real-life" simulations and experiences in technology for her students that they will be better prepared for post-secondary training, higher education and employment in business and industry.
She is married to Dan Meissner and they have three children.
