Student journalists understand the value of their ideas, their word choices and their design decisions when they see their fellow students flip through an issue of their publication.
Working with journalists allows me to prepare them for the reality of real audiences.
Also in English classes, I most enjoy pushing students to improve a writing assignment until the product is something they want to share with others, work of which they are proud.
