I am a fifth grade teacher in New York City. I grew up in Australia and after graduating from the University of New England with B.Ed moved to England to teach. I taught K-6 for 8 years, then moved to NYC to get a Masters in Gifted Ed from Teachers College, and by a number of interesting coincidences got a position at The School at Columbia University. Six years later, I'm still in the US!

In the last 3 years I have become increasingly interested in integrating technology in authentic ways, and opening the classroom to connect my students with schools around the country and world. I'd love to get some edmodo projects with other 5th gr classes. We study ancient China and Greece in social studies, but I'm interested in connecting through any subject - reading especially.
