I've been teaching in the Albertville City School system for over 27 years. I have served as 4th grade teacher, Parent Involvement Specialist, Reading Coach, Technology Coach and am currently teaching math, science and social studies 4th grade.

I feel that we learn best when we are interactive with our learning! That's one reason I've always been interested in technology-related teaching. I feel that students are more interested in learning with digital tools and are more engaged when doing so. I use a variety of digital tools in my classroom whenever possible.

I am part of the Innovations & Strategies Team for Discovery's Educator Network. I have served as the Chairperson for the Alabama Discovery Educator Network Leadership Council. I have been involved with Discovery Education's teacher network for over 5 years and feel their philosophy of connecting teachers to each other has changed my way of teaching more than any other professional factor in my career. I am constantly learning from teachers across the United States and Canada through their network of educators.
