About Mr. Jimmy Pappas

I began my career as a teacher in 2003 after graduating from Indiana University. My first two years were spent at our sister school, Guion Creek. There, I taught 6th grade language arts on the Comets team. When an 8th grade teaching position opened up here at Lincoln, I elected to transfer. That was in 2005 and I've been here on the Pioneer team ever since.

I was married in the summer of 2004 to my beautiful wife, Anne. Over the years we have welcomed three children: Lucy (2005), Jimmy (2007), and Ruthie (2009). Our children keep us very busy, but they are a true blessing. It's very rewarding being a husband and father.

I also have a passion for coaching football, which I've been doing at Bishop Chatard High School since 2005. I started out as a position coach in charge of the defensive backfield. Currently I am the defensive coordinator, which means I oversee the entire defense and all the defensive position coaches.

My life certainly centers around young people, so very rarely do I get to enjoy the proverbial "dull moment". When I do get a moment for myself, I enjoy reading, cooking, gardening, golfing, laking and visiting with family and friends.
