About Ms. Michelle Sloan
Teacher: Freedom High School
Classes: Tutorial Support, Math Skills, and Essential Math 1, 2 & 3
I first began teaching at Freedom High School in Mathematics in 2000. As a mathematics instructor I taught Algebra 1, Geometry 1, and Applied Career Mathematics. In 2006 I moved over to the Special Ed. department and became an Instructional Support Provider. In my new role as an Instructional support provider I have created and designed the Math Skills class, taught CASHEE Mathematics Test Prep, and been one of the EXCEL program teachers assigned to Mathematics plus teaching the current courses I am teaching.
Past Extra Duties: Class of 2011 Advisor, Member of the Freedom High Social Club Team, Boot Camp Drill Instructor, CARE Team member, Small Learning Community Coordinator (C-Building), Member of Freedom High Site Based Management Team, LEA Union Representative, Mathematics Instructional Coach, Instructional Reading Specialist - Mathematics, C-Building Freshmen Core Team Captain, and Class of 2006 Advisor-Freshmen Year.
I love teaching at Freedom High School and feel so fortunate that I have been given this opportunity. If I had to pinpoint my number one reason for my love of teaching it would have to be the "Students". Over the years I have taught many wonderful and amazing students.
One of the most enjoyable and rewarding experiences that I have had so far at Freedom High has been being one of the Class of 2011 Advisors with Ms. Kim Vardanega. Through that experience I got to work with and meet numerous amazing students, parents and community members. I am so proud of all the accomplishments of the Class of 2011 and miss the kids greatly!
Lastly, I will always be thankful to the Freedom High School Community (Teachers, Administrators, Support Staff, Cheer Coaches, Cross Country and Track Coaches) for providing my daughter Taylor a wonderful educational and high school experience.
I look forward to working with you as your teacher. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.
Ms. Sloan
