For the past ten years I have been a special education teacher in New Jersey at both the middle school and high school levels. I have developed a specialization in teaching English, reading, and writing, but have taught every subject over the course of my career. My role in my current placement at Summit High School has expanded to include the title of "Instructional Facilitator." I offer classroom-based professional development resources for teachers as they work with all students in both the special and general education setting. I have developed a website as part of that role: http://fc.summit.k12.nj.us/~jdeangelis/. As a teacher consultant with the National Writing Project at Rutgers, I have presented at conferences within New Jersey school districts, at Rutgers University, and at the national level. I constantly learn while I teach, and I am using my in class support English placement as an opportunity to become acquainted with Edmodo with the hopes of "spreading the word" about its usefulness in the classroom. Teachers make the best teachers of other teachers, and I hope to learn from this online community, as well as provide a national and global audience for my students' work.
