About Mrs. Amy Medlock-Greene

A graduate of Irmo High School ('92), I am a product of District 5 (also having attended Seven Oaks and Irmo Elementary Schools and Irmo Middle School). After beginning a stint as a DJ at WUSC during my senior year of high school, I entered USC as a broadcast journalism major in the fall of 1992. After realizing I could teach journalism with an English degree (but couldn't teach English in SC with a journalism degree), I changed my major to English and secondary education in 1994.

I first came to Dutch Fork as a 20-year-old student teacher in the spring of 1996 and was hired as a full-time member of the English department at the end of the semester; I've been here ever since.

Over the course of my time at Dutch Fork, I've taught English II, Leadership, Exit Exam Prep, English III, AP Language, Journalism I, Journalism II-IV (Newspaper), Introduction to Mass Media, and Media Technology I-III (the Silver Screen Report).

I love what I teach, where I teach, who I teach, and those with whom I teach. Go Foxes!
