About Mr. Jim Hitchcock
I teach because not only do I love children but because it is the most dynamic job I've ever had. I've served in the military, dug ditches, flipped burgers, waited tables, managed a restaurant, worked construction, sold tangibles and intangibles, programmed computers, and was a VP of a small multi-national corporation. I would have to say that teaching is the hardest profession in the world; but, it is also the most rewarding profession in the world. Teaching isn't a job, it is my passion.
I teach 7th grade social studies (Early U.S. History, the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, and World Geography with Economics threaded throughout).
I also sponsor the school's Newscast (media club) and the student Stock Market Club.
I am always looking for new ways to teach and engage students.
