About Mrs. Kristie Taylor
I have taught for over 10 years in both elementary and middle school settings, as both a general education and special education teacher in various settings and subject areas. I also have six years experience in a K-12 private school setting. My degree is in special education (learning disabilities), and I also hold the reading endorsement and elementary and middle grades English certifications. Currently, I serve as a 3rd grade Special Education Teacher in two General Education classrooms.
I am also a Florida Master Digital Educator, providing professional development across the state to educators in integrating technology into instruction in a hands-on, higher-level thinking, project/challenge based approach. Also, in the professional developer role, I have created/facilitated reading endorsement, language arts, and teaching strategy courses and am a Certified Content Enhancement Routine Professional Developer.
As a Peer Assistance & Review(PAR) Teacher for Volusia County Schools. I had the honor and significant privilege of mentoring and evaluating first year teachers and teachers needing professional assistance. My role was part of the new teacher evaluation system, Volusia System of Empowering Teachers (VSET). VSET has been drawing both state and national attention for its cutting edge approach in empowering teachers to take control and drive their excellence and growth in the teaching profession. I am extremely proud to have been part of this ground breaking movement in educational professional development!!!
Hands down beyond my experience, my favorite attribute and compliment I lay claim to is mastering being a life long learner. I continually seek training and knowledge that not just makes me a better educator, but more importantly helps teachers and students achieve higher levels of learning.
