My name is Floricel Chaves. This is my second year teaching 3rd grade at Fields Store Elementary. I was born and raised in Mexico. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Applied Linguistics in 2001. After that, I worked in the Automotive Industry in a worldwide company for 5 years as a Buyer and Purchasing Analyst. I went back to school in 2007 to obtain my teaching certification while I was living in Boston, MA.
I moved from Boston in 2009 with my husband in order to pursue my career in Education and to raise our little boy in Texas. My husband is from Brazil, so we have a multicultural family. We speak English, Spanish and Portuguese at home!
One of my goals as a Teacher is to motivate and encourage children to reach their goals at school through a comfortable and secure environment, as well as address every child's learning style and abilities to help them succeed in their learning process. It is important for me that my students feel cared, protected and needed because they are the most important reason why we are here, for them and because of them.
