I am a sixth grade math teacher at Argenta-Oreana Middle School. This is my 10th year teaching math, and I have taught each year at AOCUSD#1. The community and schools here are amazing!

I graduated from Illinois State University in 2003 with a Bachelors in teaching at the middle school level. I am highly qualified to teach Mathematics and Language Arts. Recently, I graduated from University of Illinois with a Masters Degree in 2010. My Masters degree taught me a great deal about helping students make sense of math in a broader sense.

This year my husband and I will be celebrating our 9th year anniversary. We have been together since 1998, and married since 2003. We don't have children yet, but we do have two yorkies that we love just as much! Our yorkies are Peanut and Tucker. You may see pictures of them here. :)

While teaching is my full time job, I do a lot in my spare time that keeps me very busy. I am a runner and a cross fitter. I have completed a full marathon and several half marathon races. Fitness is important to me, so I regularly get up by 4:30 am to workout while most people are snoozing. :-)

I also have two of my own small businesses. The first, established in September 2010, is my own fitness & health coaching business where I motivate and mentor others to become healthy and fit, or lose weight. Last but not least, I am also highly involved in technology in education and I enjoy using technology within my classroom. I love to get kids excited about math and learning new things.
