I was born and raised in Lexington, South Carolina - a true "native" who absolutely LOVES everything about the South! :) I have one sister, Carol, and one brother, Josh, who I am extremely close with and love spending time with any chance I get! We have a lot in common and are very close, each 18 months apart. I enjoy going to the beach, listening to good music, and having a good time. I have a strong faith and I love my family more than anything in this world.

Being from Lexington and attending Lexington High School, I know first-hand how stellar of an education Lexington One schools offer for each, individual student. I feel honored to uphold our school district's high standards to instill qualities and skills in our future leaders. I attended Lexington High School where I cheered from C-Team through the Varsity levels, making wonderful memories and gaining a passion for Lexington Wildcat teams.

I attended the University of South Carolina and graduated with a major in History and a minor in Education. I danced on the USC Dance Team my freshman year, loving the thrill of the crowd at football games and appearances! It truly gave me an insight into more varieties of dance and gave me a way to meet more people. After my senior year as an undergraduate, I immediately began my Graduate School, again at USC, earning my Masters of Teaching in Secondary Education in Social Studies.

I began teaching as a 7th grade teacher at Pleasant Hill Middle School in 2007. I quickly fell in love with teaching young adults. The following year, I began teaching 8th grade and am now in my 5th year of teaching, and my 4th year with 8th graders. My students give me joy each and every day. I feel I really do make a difference in their lives, in a positive way. Everyday is different and always has its comical moments when it comes to children. :) The saying, "kids say the darndest things" really rings true in this profession!
