About Mrs. Sonya Ameli

My name is Mrs. Sonya Ameli. I have been a teacher for 14 years, and have been a member of the School #15 family for the past 12 years. I have taught the 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th Grades, 6th Grade LEADS and Computer Literacy.

I attended Seton Hall University and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and English. Almost 10 years later, I returned to school and earned a Masters Degree from the University of Phoenix, in Administration and Supervision in Education. I have also completed my 6th Year Level in Children's Literature and Elementary Education. I am a firm believer in, "learning something new every day", and am planning to continue my own education in the near future.

I thoroughly enjoy working with our students and am humbled by their knowledge of technology. I have already learned a great deal from the middle school students, and look forward to embracing everything they send my way.

The 2012-2013 school year marks my second year as a Computer Literacy teacher. I love the career I have chosen, and am proud to be a stepping stone in the leaders of our future. Teaching is my passion <3 I have been given yet another opportunity to broaden my expertise, by working with students in a new capacity. I am very excited to embark on this adventure with them!

"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not."
